SAP boss Christian Klein has taken a position against the AfD policy and warned of negative consequences for Germany as a business location.
“With the AfD’s policies, would you feel welcome there? Absolutely not,” said SAP boss Klein in the “Berlin Playbook” podcast of the news magazine “Politico” with a view to foreign skilled workers.
The CEO of the software group based in Walldorf, Baden-Württemberg, emphasized that his company is dependent on skilled workers from abroad – for example from India, the USA or Scandinavia. “We also need controlled immigration.” In his view, the AfD positions on migration policy are an obstacle: “That would simply be a fatal sign,” said Klein.
According to Klein, this is what the parties have to do now
At the same time, he expressed frustration about political deficits: “I’m also frustrated about the regulation and the lack of it Digitalization“, says the boss of Europe’s largest software manufacturer. The AfD does not provide any convincing answers. “What are the solutions? Then I think it becomes relatively thin.”
Klein called on the established parties to overcome party political boundaries and concentrate on common goals. “It’s now just time to maybe forget the party book a little bit and just say, okay, what’s important for Germany now,” he said. Economic growth and Europe are crucial for Germany’s future.
