Sanna Marin opens up about partying to the Norwegian media: “I looked too sexy”

Sanna Marin talks about the party excitement of summer 2022 in an interview she gave to the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation.

Former Prime Minister Sanna Marin has given a comprehensive interview to the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation before the New Year for NRK.

In the interview, Marin talks, among other things, about the videos that went viral in the summer of 2022, where she was seen partying with other well-known public figures. The leaked videos generated a large-scale discussion.

Marin is sad that his private life has become public. The prime minister at the time missed the time of the party.

– It was stupid that the videos leaked to the public. They were private and did not belong to anyone else. It had nothing to do with my career or politics, says Marin in an interview with NRK.

Marin says she likes dancing and singing with her friends and sees nothing wrong with that.

Marin cannot say whether the attention would have been less if she had been a male politician. However, he is of the opinion that the uproar was primarily about his appearance.

– I looked too young. I looked too sexy in the videos. Some people didn’t like it.

– I think it says about the attitudes our society has towards women. Women have always been put in boxes and judged as to what decisions they have the right to make. I believe that women have different moral requirements and that was clear in this media discussion, Marin reflects to NRK.

Marin, who recognizes herself as a feminist, says that women have worse conditions than men both in Finland and in other parts of the world. There are still very few women in leading positions.

Marin also opens up about her future prospects in politics – or the lack of them. At the moment, Marin is not considering running for president or returning to Finnish politics, at least not yet.

In the interview, Marin also talks about her rapid rise to prime minister, the relationship between Finland and Russia, and her school years.
