Prime Minister Sanna Marin (sd.) announced yesterday on her Instagram account that she is divorcing her husband Markus Räikkösen.

The Pirkanmaa district court tells Iltalehti that the divorce is filed together, but the application was submitted on Wednesday, May 10 by Sanna Marin. Marin submitted the application to the district court by e-mail at 16:44.

Iltalehti reported yesterday that Marin and Räikkösen did not have a prenuptial agreement. From the divorce application submitted to the district court of Pirkanmaa, it appears that the two have no claims to the other’s property or maintenance, and they do not plan to divide the property. They are going to agree on everything together outside of the authority.

Marin and Räikkönen were married as of 2020. They started dating as teenagers and were together for 19 years. The couple said in their separation announcement that they will continue to be best friends and loving parents. The couple has a 5-year-old Emma-daughter.

In April, Sanna Marin said that she would give up the chairmanship of SDP.
