Sandro has announced a partnership with the French start-up Fairly Made. Sandro wants to create more transparency in the production chain for his customers, the fashion company announced on Thursday.
Fairly Made has developed a system that collects data from numerous suppliers at different production levels. By combining the data, a score is generated that evaluates the traceability of the supply chain of individual products. The information is made accessible to end users via QR codes – starting with the raw material, through production facilities to transport to the local shop. End consumers can see, for example, how much CO2 emissions were generated or how much water and energy was used in production. Information about individual steps such as yarn production or dyeing processes is also available. Further information is made available to the companies that work with Fairly Made, giving an overview of the entire corporate social responsibility.
Sandro will use the QR code from the spring-summer 2022 collection. In addition to being presented on the label, the code will also be visible in the online shop. For the time being, only a selection of the items will be provided with the information – by 2025 the effects of the entire range should be comprehensible for customers.
According to the fashion label, the collaboration with Fairly Made is part of a larger sustainability effort. In 2021, the French brand has already introduced a second-hand platform.
