Sandro Tonali ahead of Newcastle move – record fee for Milan

AC Milan and Newcastle United have sat down and possibly found a solution in the case of Sandro Tonali (23). Milan signed Tonali from Brescia Calcio in 2020 for a €10m loan plus a €20m buy option for 2021. However, the Milanese did not pull this, but negotiated. Tonali was keen to stay and Brescia had their backs to the wall as the defensive midfielder’s contract would have expired a year later – eventually agreeing to pay €6.9m plus €3m in bonuses.
