Sander van de Pavert wants his Lucky TV videos in Today Inside so badly that he is now allowing himself to be censored by the program. “Please take one of my videos!”, he seems to beg.
It is one big drama: the collaboration between Sander van de Pavert and Today Inside. His now somewhat stale column Lucky TV was once innovative, during the time of De Wereld Draait Door. But we are now ten years later and what was once funny now feels a bit desperate: apparently Sander has never managed to renew himself in all that time.
Lucky exit
The Lucky TV videos did not appeal to VI. It didn’t help that Sander literally edited poop and pee jokes under images of Caroline van der Plas every evening during the first week. We know that now. And Johan Derksen too. He started making scathing comments after every video.
The result? We haven’t seen Lucky TV in a while. Until yesterday it was assumed that Sander’s section had silently disappeared from the program, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Wilfred responds
Wilfred Genee brings up the subject at the table Today Inside. “Where has Lucky TV gone anyway?”
Colleague Johan Derksen: “Nobody knows that!”
René van der Gijp: “I don’t know either!”
Wilfred: “No, we have some kind of agreement. It’s not quite over yet. If there’s a nice one, we’ll take it.”
Johan falsely: “That’s an agreement that he won’t come anymore.”
Good things
Wilfred comes to the rescue for the troubled Sander. “No, no, no, no. We look at the good things and we take them out. We have agreed on that now.”
Johan: “He has to do something with Caroline and shit. That’s fun!”
Wilfred: “No, no, no! I’m now trying to stick up for that boy a bit.”
On his knees at the VI editorial office, hoping that his film will be selected… What a loss.
