Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım made an open appeal to the fans due to the decreasing number of spectators. In his post on his social media account, he said, “Let’s reorganize this community together. Samsunspor is now the club not only of the city, but also of the region. We are aware of the resentments experienced recently. I am calling out to you as a single name that will unite the community again and return the disgruntled people to the stadium.”
President Yıldırım emphasized that the real issue of the fans is not success, but struggle and unity. “Your problem is not the score. The real issue is the struggle of the crest on the field and the unity in the stands. From now on, the focus of every sentence will be the Ataturk crest and the Red-White-Black colors. Past mistakes should be left behind. The fans’ expectation is a sincere embrace and the reunion of the community. We are ready to do this. Because we have no friends other than ourselves,” he said.
Yıldırım shared his Champions League dream and continued: “Let’s live this big dream together in the next 3-5 years. If you want to see me more active, I am ready to take on this task again. I will continue to contribute materially and morally to the club. Let’s rekindle the fire in the hearts of the fans this Ramadan. Let’s leave the past aside and open a new page. This city, its fans and the coat of arms with Atatürk are ready to unite around my leadership. We will succeed together.”

Samsunspor has now become a football club not only of Samsun city but also of the region.
Samsunspor is not only a football club of the region in which it is located, but also an identity of this region and the city of Samsun, a legacy passed from father to son, and a football club that is a weekly source of happiness for millions of people.
We are all aware of the recent resentments, mistakes or disagreements. However, there is a clear truth at this point: I am calling out to you as a single name that will reunite the community, return the disgruntled to the stadium, and revive that old spirit.
Your concern with us is not the score or sporting success, we know very well that Samsunspor fans are never just “success fans”. The real issue for you and us is the struggle of that coat of arms on the field and the unique unity in the stands. We know very well that you are a big community that plans every week with Samsunspor’s match, when you win, the world is yours, and when you lose, the whole week is poison.
Istanbul teams have never been the focus of ours or yours.
We know very well that your ears and heart are only in Samsunspor. Also, there is only one thing that you and I know very well: The focus of every sentence that comes out of my mouth is that the only thing we all have in common is the Coat of Arms with Ataturk and our favorite colors “Red-White-Black”.
Therefore, the only expectation you all long for is: Sincerity and a New Page…
I, too, think the same things with the same feelings as you. Past mistakes made, words spoken or tensions experienced should now be left behind. The expectations of you, Büyük Samsunspor Fans, from me and the Executive Board are very clear:
