Samsung CEO gets pardon from South Korean president ‘to help overcome economic crisis’

The South Korean president on Friday pardoned Lee Jae-yong, the heir – and in fact boss – of tech giant Samsung. Lee, 54, who has been convicted of corruption, will be “rehabilitated” to “help overcome South Korea’s economic crisis,” Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon said.
