Samir Ben Sallam signs contract in Cyprus after leaving FC Volendam

Samir Ben Sallam has found a new club. The 21-year-old midfielder has, according to Cypriot media signed a contract with Karmiotissa FC.

Ben Sallam started playing football at ODIN ’59 in Heemskerk. At the age of 8, he transferred to Ajax’s youth academy, where he would play for more than eight years. Ben Sallam eventually ended up at FC Volendam in 2019 via Jong FC Utrecht.

last season Ben Sallam was told that his expiring contract would not be extended at FC Volendam. The controlling midfielder made 43 official appearances in the service of FC Volendam. Last season Ben Sallam appeared in thirteen games, one of which was only a starting player.

At his new club Karmiotissa FC, which was promoted to the top division of Cyprus last season, Ben Sallam will meet former NAC midfielder Mounir El Allouchi, among others. Yanilio de Nooijer of Jong Sparta also accompanies Ben Sallam at the Karmiotissa. It is unknown for how many years Ben Sallam has signed with his new club.
