Kuronen’s meat pies

The instructions will be completed with 12 big meat pie

Dough

5 dl of milk

3 tbsp sugar

1 teaspoon of salt

2 ps dry yeast

11-12 dl wheat flour

For lubrication 100g butter melted

Filling

5 dl of water

Meat broth

2 dl market-barley beads or rice

600 g of beef minced meat

A drop of oil

2 cloves of garlic chopped

1 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper from the mill

2 tbsp sour cream

1. Melt in the microwave and move aside to wait.

2. Heat the milk to a hand warm in a saucepan or microwave. Add sugar, salt and dry yeast. Add the flour until the dough becomes soft and elastic. For example, start mixing with a wooden spatula and continue by hand as the dough thickens.

3. Add the butter melt and knead the dough by hand until the butter is mixed with the dough. Raise the dough covered with a cloth at room temperature for about an hour.

4. First, start making the filling by heating the meat broth to a boil. Add the barley beads or rice and cook on low heat for 15 minutes. Drain.

5. Bake the minced meat in a pan in a drop of oil. Add chopped garlic and spices. Pour into a bowl, add barley beads or rice and sour cream. Stir until smooth.

6. Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Set aside the raised dough on a floured table and divide it into 12 parts. Rotate the parts into balls in your hands. Then roll the balls into round “pancakes” and divide the filling evenly into the middle. Moisten the edges of the pancakes with water with a finger or a bun. Turn the dough over the filling. That you get a crescent -shaped pie. Press the edges well, for example, with a fork.

7. Lift the meat pies on a baking sheet over the baking paper and cook for about 25 minutes until they have a beautiful and golden brown surface. Lubricate the pies with butter and allow to cool for a moment before enjoying.
