Sam Fender announces live album

Runs for Sam Fender: While he was still considered a promising newcomer three years ago with his debut HYPERSONIC MISSILES and already landed at number 1 in the British charts, the British songwriter really swept away with his second record SEVENTEEN GOING UNDER (2021). Among other things, he won a BRIT Award in the category “Best British Alternative / Rock Act” and two NME Awards (Best Album by a UK artist, Best Album in the world), a Mercury Prize in the category “Album Of The Year”. come along these days.

The 28-year-old also plays the really big shows live with his band. At the Glastonbury Festival they appeared as the last act before headliner Billie Eilish, in Hyde Park Fender appeared with the Rolling Stones as a special guest. On July 15th he gave his biggest concert to date in Finsbury Park in front of 45,000 people. An album-length live recording of this historic performance for Fender will soon be released.

Sam Fender’s “Live From Finsbury Park” is scheduled for release on double-sided colored vinyl on December 9th. The show will also be available to stream, along with a live deluxe edition of SEVENTEEN GOING UNDER. “This show was a real highlight for me and the boys, so we’re buzzing to share it with you,” Fender wrote on Twitter in an announcement accompanied by a trailer:

Fender has already announced an even bigger concert: on June 3, 2023 he wants to play a home game at St. James Park Stadium in Newcastle, not far from his home North Shields. For football matches, St. James Park can hold over 52,000 spectators.

Fender also released a new single to coincide with the Finsbury Park concert in July: “Alright” came from the studio sessions for SEVENTEEN GOING UNDER and was previously only available as the B-side of a Record Store Day release.
