DOpo a night spent at 4,000 meters above sea level on the Breithorn twinin the Monte Rosa group, two German mountaineers were rescued at dawn today by the Valle d’Aosta Alpine Rescue who managed to Reach them by helicopter and take them to the valley.

Transported to the Parini hospital in Aosta for investigations, their conditions seem good. The two were stuck yesterday during the descent for a technical problem with the rope that had joined. Recovery by helicopter had turned impossible due to bad weather. An approach on foot had also been attempted, but the Alpine guides had had to stop for the avalanche danger.
