In the coming days it will become clear which players can look for a new club at FC Volendam and Telstar. They have an expiring contract that will not be renewed or an option that the club waives. Both North Holland first division clubs involve a large number of players, which means that there is still a lot of work to be done for the technical directors.
Before April 1, football clubs must formally terminate expiring contracts of players. If they don’t hear anything, the football players can stay with their employer under the same conditions.
In the overview below we list the expiring contracts of FC Volendam and Telstar.
FC Volendam
Volendam is very interested in making the step to the Eredivisie. For Franco Antonucci and Benaissa Benamar, promotion automatically means that they will be active in the fishing village for another year. Antonucci is then rented again from Feyenoord, while Benamar makes the final switch from FC Utrecht to FC Volendam.
If FC Volendam remains in the first division, these agreements will be crossed and two basic players will be dropped. Two other basic forces say goodbye, regardless of the sporting result. Goalkeeper Filip Stankovic and midfielder Gaetano Oristanio are hired and will return to Internazionale this summer.

In addition, the contracts of two experienced workers expire at the end of the season. Routiniers Boy Deul (34) and Kevin Visser (33), who have been playing in Volendam for years, are running out of their contracts. As a result, the pain points for trainer Wim Jonk’s team are mainly in the back and in the midfield.
The number two in the ranking will probably not extend the expiring contracts of reserves Alex Plat, Martijn Kaars and Jim Beers. Mike Eerdhuijzen leaves for Sparta Rotterdam. Officially, a longer stay of trainer Wim Jonk is not a certainty either. His contract also expires, but according to director Jan Smit it is ‘a matter of time’ that Jonk resigns.

Telstar
As every year, Telstar has a lot of work to do. Trainer Andries Jonker, who also has an expiring contract, is also the technical director in Velsen-Zuid. He will have to round the table with a cartload of players if he wants to prevent an idle. No fewer than thirteen players are in the danger zone of which Redouan Taha and Jay Kruiver have an option in their contract.

The situation in the attack seems to be getting dire for Telstar. Captain Glynor Plet, the lightning fast Rein Smit, the eternal talent Gyliano van Velzen and the versatile Sven van Doorm are all out of their contracts. If Jonker wants to know who he will have at the front next year, he will have to act quickly. Yesterday it became clear that Go Ahead Eagles is taking over all-rounder Rashaan Fernandes on a free transfer.
