Sailing and Surfing Club Gavermeer takes silver at the World Windsurfing Championships
Our country was represented at the World Cup by seven surfers who are all part of the competition team of the Gavers. They all achieved great results in the age categories U13, U15, U17 and U19. But Emiel De Clerck took the cake with his silver medal.
At the beginning of this month, the team colored the entire podium at the BK Techno in our country and beautiful places were scored at various international competitions. Emiel De Clerck, who won silver at the World Cup in Cyprus, achieved an 8 . last yearste place at the European Championship Techno in Tallinn and this spring a 5the place at the European Techno Championship in Cagliari.
Techno 293 is a competition discipline in which surfers per age group sail a course the fastest. The competition is sailed on one type of surfboard with a sail size that depends on the age category.
