67 athletes, 25 of whom were women, participated in the races on the last day of Kaş Other Free Diving World Cup. Mirela Kardesevic from Croatia took the first place in the women’s fixed weight no pallets (CNF) category, diving 75 meters. This rating of Kadresevic became a new world record. Spain’s Laia Sopena dived to 46 meters in second place, and Samira Makalfard from Iran, who dived to 30 meters, won third place. In the men’s fixed weight no pallets category, national athlete Görkem Gedik dived to 65 meters, national athlete Mete Mordağ dived to 64 meters in second place, and Anthony Wagner from Germany took the third place diving to 41 meters.


Samira Kanalfard from Iran, who was the only competitor in the women’s fixed weight category and dived to 35 meters, won the first place. Yaooub Benjabo from Kuwait went on to dive to 74 meters in the men’s category, national athlete Birol Özbek came second with 57 meters, and Anthony Wagner from Germany took the third place in 55 meters.


In the women’s fixed weight double fins (CET-BF) category, İrena Vanova dived to 78 meters, the second place went to Simona Auteri from Italy, who dived to 75 meters, and the national athlete Yasemin Ulucan, who dived to 63 meters, won the third place. In this category, Poland’s Matensz Malina dived to 113 meters in the men’s category, Omar Al Ghailani from Oman came second in the 97-meter dive, and Marck Bou Mansour from Lebanon, who dived to 74 meters, came in third.


ŞAHİKA ERCÜMEN HAS A NEW TURKISH RECORD


Kateryna Sadurska from Ukraine took the first place in the women’s rope supported fixed weight (FIM) category, diving to 90 meters, and national athlete Şahika Ercümen, diving 82 meters, took the second place. The national athlete became the owner of the new Turkey record. The third place was won by Enchante Gallardo from the USA, who dived to 78.2 meters. In this category, Tory George from England came first in the men’s dive to 96 meters, Eugen Geottling from Austria in 95 meters, and Piotr Blaszczak from Poland, who dived 81 meters, came in third.


Athletes who ranked in the first three places in the Kas Other World Cup Free Diving Championship received their awards at a ceremony held in Kaş Cumhuriyet Field. The medals were given to the athletes by Turkish Underwater Federation Technical Committee Chairman Levent Cheap.
