The source of a strange stale smell has been located a plastic bag that has just been purchased from the store, where shopping is carried home.
Odor observations have not been just an imagination.
-One of the bag options for sale in our stores has been a plastic bag for sale at the beginning of the year, which is made from more than 90 % recycled plastic raw materials, says S Group Market Sales Manager Venla Kuoppamäki by e -mail.
-When so much recycled raw material has been used, a so-called uninvited guest can also become a small smell.
Recipe changed
The more recycled material has been used in the manufacture of plastic bags, the more likely it may be to smell from time to time in Kuoppamäki in the bags.
Kuoppamäki admits that there has been feedback on the smell of plastic bags.
-We have received some feedback from our customers and the “recipe” of that plastic bag has already been changed and the source of the raw material has been changed. This will reduce unwanted scents.
However, according to Kuoppamäki, the proportion of recycled material remains unchanged.
– The change will be visible to customers in the coming weeks, when plastic bags made with a new recipe will record in stores, Kuoppamäki promises.
