It just doesn’t work with the German ski jumpers. In Sapporo, too, it was not enough to top. Ryōyū Kobayashi secured the victory.

The German ski jumping team does not come out of the tense atmosphere. In Sapporo in Japan, too, no DSV eagle made it to the podium. Pius Paschke became the best German and landed in the 23rd place. He jumped 131.5 and 119.5 meters. The Japanese Ryōyū Kobayashi secured the World Cup victory in front of the Austrian Jan Hörl and the Slovenian Domen Prevc.

Kobayashi said to his success at the World Association FIS: “The atmosphere here was very good and I was able to show my best jumps.” With a view to the World Cup in Trondheim in Norway, he said: “I look forward to the World Cup and would also like to show good jumps there.”

Andreas Wellinger also showed no convincing jumps. Although he made it into the second round, he already arrived there after 113 meters. In the first round it was still 125.5 meters. In the end, Wellinger took a place behind Paschke. Also for Stephan Leyhe, it was only 29th.

Felix Hoffmann missed the second round of scores in 42, as well as Adrian Tittel. National coach Stefan Horngacher was disappointed with the competition day.
