Russian swimmer Evgenia Chikunova smashed the world record in the 200m breaststroke at the national championships in Kazan. The 18-year-old Russian tapped into the final in 2:17.55, almost 1.5 seconds below the world record held by Tatjana Schoenmaker. The South African won gold at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics in the 200 school in 2:18.95.
