A Russian fighter jet collided with a US surveillance drone over the Black Sea. This is reported by the US military. The military had to immediately shoot down the drone due to the crash.
The incident occurred over the Black Sea, near Ukraine, the US military said. A Russian ‘Su-27’ fighter jet rammed the drone, forcing US forces to shoot it down. It would be a drone of the type ‘MQ-9 Reaper’.
“Our MQ-9 was conducting routine operations in international airspace when it was intercepted and hit by a Russian aircraft, resulting in a crash,” said U.S. Air Force General James Hecker. “U.S. and allied aircraft continue to operate in international airspace and we call on Russians to behave professionally and safely,” the statement said.
