Russian Ambassador summoned to French Foreign Ministry after posting on Twitter

The French Foreign Ministry has summoned Russian Ambassador Alexei Meshkov after posting a diplomatic mission on Twitter that Paris deemed inappropriate, the agency said. Reuters with reference to the statement of the French diplomatic mission.

The Russian embassy in Paris previously released a photograph showing a body lying on a table labeled “Europe” with characters representing the United States and the European Union sticking needles into it, the agency said.

“These posts are unacceptable. We made this clear to the Russian Ambassador today. We are trying to maintain a channel of dialogue with Russia, and these actions are completely inappropriate, ”the French Foreign Ministry said in a statement sent to Reuters.

“We made sure that in Paris they carefully read our publications on Twitter, which set out the official position of Russia on various issues,” the Russian embassy said after that, confirming the call of the head of the diplomatic mission.
