TEL AVIV – Russia is doing everything it can to maintain its military bases in Syria, which are crucial to its position of power in the Middle East and Africa. A difficult task: for almost ten years the country bombed the rebels who have now taken over power. Nevertheless, it is trying to establish ties with them.
