Russia threatens the US with “unforeseeable consequences” if it continues to send weapons to Ukraine

This week Russia sent a diplomatic letter to the United States warning that if it does not stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, there will be “unforeseeable consequences” as published this Friday by The Washington Post.

The aforementioned newspaper said it had access to the diplomatic note, in which Moscow warns that arms shipments by the US and NATO to Ukraine are “adding fuel” to the conflict and that they could trigger “unforeseeable consequences”.

Hours before the Post advanced the news, the television channel CNN also said it had access to the document.

On Wednesday, the president of the United States, Joe Biden, communicated to his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, the sending of an additional package of military assistance worth 800 million dollars, with more lethal weapons, to confront Russia in the new phase of the invasion more focused on the donbas.

After speaking by phone with Zelensky, Biden said in a statement that weapons from the United States and other Western countries have been “crucial” for Ukraine to resist the Russian invasion in the first month and a half of war, with a “devastating effect” for Russian goals.

According to the list released by the Pentagon, the new military assistance includes for the first time, since the beginning of the invasion on February 24, 18 Howitzers 155-millimeter cannons with 40,000 ammunition; to which are added 10 anti-artillery radars of the type AN/TPQ-36 and two aerial surveillance AN/MPQ-54.

The package also contains 300 Switchblade Drones (which have anti-armour warheads), 500 Javelin anti-tank missiles, 200 armored personnel carriers100 Humvees light armored vehicles, 11 Mi-17 helicopters, 30,000 armored helmets and uniforms, and 2,000 laser and optical binoculars.

The list highlights the presence of protection equipment against possible chemical, biological and nuclear attacks; and unmanned coastal defense craft.
