The Ukrainian army receives aid from the air. Continued rains have soaked the ground in the east to such an extent that Russian tanks and armored vehicles have to remain on the tarmac. It will clear up this weekend, but the heavens will open again next week. “Not a good time to start an offensive, but Moscow wants results before 9 May,” said Peter Wijninga of the The Hague Center for Strategic Studies (HCSS).
