Russia leadership warns against protest against Ukraine attack

Russian authorities have warned that people who protest against the attack on Ukraine could count on sanctions. A Moscow human rights activist, Marina Litvinovich, was arrested outside her home after calling out to protest the war in Ukraine.

In the crisis surrounding Ukraine in March 2014, there were protests on several days in Moscow against Russian interference in that country and against the annexation of the Crimean peninsula. The largest was in mid-March with an estimated 20,000 protesters.
