Russia fires hypersonic rocket during military exercise Zapad: “Nine times as fast as sound”

During the military exercise ‘Zapad’, Russia fired a hypersonic cruise rocket of the ‘Zircon’ type on a target in the Barents Sea. The Russian Ministry of Defense reports this. The Zircon has a range of 1,000 km and, according to Russia, flies “nine times as fast as the sound”.
