Rumor: FC Bayern canceled other players because of Gravenberch

Ryan Gravenberch is currently one of the hottest transfer candidates at FC Bayern. It is now becoming clear that the central midfielder has long been the focus of the German record champions. And: Apparently, the people of Munich are very confident in poker with the Dutch top talent. Financially, however, they still have to do something better.

In the midfield center at FC Bayern there is currently little nominal demand. With Corentin Tolisso, Marc Roca, Marcel Sabitzer, Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala, who was recently retrained, there is even an oversupply. Nevertheless, the Bundesliga champions seem to be targeting 19-year-old Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax Amsterdam.

Recently, the daily newspaper “De Telegraaf” from the Netherlands reported that FC Bayern has intensified its efforts to attract the 1.90 meter tall man from Amsterdam. At a meeting with those responsible for the Dutch club last Wednesday, the FCB bosses are said to have made an offer for a fee of 25 million euros.

According to information from “Sky”, both parties are still “far apart” financially.

Gravenberch is tied to Ajax until 2023, which would like to extend it with its own team. Should he leave the club, Amsterdam probably imagines a transfer fee of 30 to 35 million euros.

Bayern boss Oliver Kahn is said to have been there with sports director Hasan Salihamidzic and technical director Marco Neppe for the negotiations last week. Gravenberch, like some of the big names in the scene, including Dortmund’s top striker Erling Haaland, will be advised by Mino Raiola, with whom Kahn recently met.

FC Bayern scouted Gravenberch a few years ago

According to “Sky”, courting Gravenberch is very serious. Therefore, the bosses are said to have already canceled other players who have been offered them through consultants.

The tall youngster, who already has ten caps for Oranje (one goal), is the main transfer target, according to the report.

Supposedly, Munich has had the Dutchman on their radar since 2015. In 2016 he is said to have been scouted again in a game between Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. But there were no concrete talks. But now Kahn and Co. want to get down to business.

Gravenberch can well imagine moving to Bayern

“Sport1” reports that Gravenberch could warm up to a move to Bayern. The TV broadcaster found out from his environment that he considers the Bayern project and the career plan presented to be very interesting.

Gravenberch could get Tolisso’s place in the squad at FC Bayern, according to “Sport1”. Roca is also considered a candidate for sale. Even Sabitzer, who only signed last summer, is not secure in the saddle but could go if there is a good offer.

TV expert Lothar Matthäus recently described Gravenberch in his “Sky” column as “an interesting eighth, which could definitely be a reinforcement”. The club must first clean up its oversupply in midfield. But then Gravenberch is “a good commitment in terms of age structure and quality”.
