Antonio Rudiger is officially a Real Madrid player, the agreement became official when the defender passed the medical examinations. The German, formerly of Rome, has signed a 4-year contract, will receive a salary of around 9 million per season, as well as a signing bonus. Rudiger has been a staple of Chelsea as well as of the German national team for the past five seasons.
The Madrid club has set an impressive release clause for a 29-year-old footballer: 400 million. Originally from Sierra Leone and raised in Germany, Rudiger chose to play for the German national team, with whom he played in the last European Championship, the 2018 World Cup and won the Confederations Cup in 2017.
Ancelotti will be able to count on a fast and strong defender on high balls, as he demonstrated in the quarter-final of the Champions League at the Bernabeu. This should allow Alaba to return to the wing, with Rudiger lining up in the center alongside Militao.
