Rublev agrees to the tournament in Halle

Last year’s finalist Andrey Rublev, number seven in the world rankings, will again serve at the lawn tournament in Halle in East Westphalia this year.

This means that there are a total of five top ten players in the current list of participants. Munich winner Holger Rune (Denmark) has also registered for the tournament.

Rublev recently drew attention to himself with a final win against world number one Novak Djokovic at his home tournament in Belgrade. “Last year in Halle I reached my first final on grass and I would like to win my first tournament on grass here,” said the 24-year-old.

The field is led by Olympic champion Alexander Zverev. Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece), number five in the world, and Italy’s great hope Jannik Sinner also play in East Westphalia. Daniil Medvedev, currently number two in the world, is planning his comeback after a long injury break.
