Jeroen Pauw starts the new season with a blast: his new talk show Pauw & De Wit is a hit. The big victim? RTL Tonight. That already collapses completely after one broadcast. “The big loser.”
There is a lot of RTL 4 that the new RTL Tonight will score, because the wallet of the TV channel is now empty after purchasing all kinds of experts. Unfortunately it doesn’t look very good for the time being. After the premiere viewed by 897 thousand people, the viewing figures were completely collapsed yesterday: only 404 thousand viewers were still watching.
RTL Tonight collapses
TV authority Tina Nijkamp finds this very fierce for all those involved of RTL Tonight. “The great loser of the day is RTL Tonight. The score is more than halved,” she writes on her analysis canal. “Fortunately a very good market share in the important target group 25 to 54 years: 25.1 percent. But this will still be a considerable disappointment.”
She continues: “Certainly also because the advertising breaks had been taken out. That to start this first week extra well. Half also from Pauw & De Wit. Ai. That starts formidably with 805 thousand viewers.”
“What a revenge!”
Jeroen Pauw is the big winner of the evening. “Pauw & De Wit scores a nice 21.9 percent in 25 to54 years. What a revenge for bar leaves. Already. It was also immediately like a house. Serious, political leaders, no frills.”
She continues: “The biggest mistake/weaving error at RTL Tonight is that the presenter interviews his own colleagues and therefore it will never be exciting. The host has become more declarant than interviewer. Late starting time also does not help at all. Painfully enough, also lower score than SummerNight last week. That scored 458 thousand viewers.”
Advertising break
RTL 4 did not help the removal of advertising breaks. “To optimize the viewing figures, RTL had removed two advertising breaks during Lubach and RTL Tonight.
She continues: “Whether they do that again tonight? Think it. Think until Thursday. Especially now that the RTL Tonight viewing figures in the Totals are already under so much pressure.”
Eva number one
The most viewed talk show of the evening was that of Eva Jinek with 934 thousand viewers, followed by today Inside with 874 thousand viewers. This is followed by Pauw & De Wit (805 thousand) and RTL Tonight (404 thousand).
One thing is certain: there is panic in the tent at RTL. “Does RTL 4 Lubach and RTL Tonight have to turn around to push the viewing figures of RTL Tonight up and is that not better in terms of feeling?” Tina finally wonders.
