RTL presents replacement for Florian König

Laura Papendick presents the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix live on free TV on RTL on April 24th. The 33-year-old is standing in for the long-time moderator Florian König, who missed his assignment in Imola due to a corona infection.

“Unfortunately, I got caught, but luckily I’m symptom-free so far. The anticipation of accompanying Formula 1 again with the RTL team in time for the start of Europe was great, but it’s only been postponed. Now I’m looking forward to the British Grand Prix to experience the F1 circus from the inside again,” said Florian König.

Laura Papendick wishes her colleague “Get well soon from the entire RTL Sport team! We look forward to you being able to stand by the track again with the rest of the crew.”

The Cologne broadcaster is broadcasting the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix as the first of a total of four races on the Formula 1 calendar. The races from Great Britain (Silverstone, July 3rd), the Netherlands (Zandvoort, September 4th) and Brazil (Sao Paulo, November 13th) are planned as further live broadcasts.

Live from 2:00 p.m. (start 3:00 p.m.) Laura Papendick welcomes the fans of the premier class from the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola on Sunday. The rest of the TV staff at the Cologne station is also by her side.

Wasser and Danner on the mic, Ebel in the pit lane

The well-known duo around Heiko Wasser and Christian Danner commented on the events live on site. Kai Ebel also reported back from the paddock. The busy pit reporter is once again catching votes for the spectators in the paddock.

For the first time since the corona-related relocation of production to Cologne at the beginning of the 2020 season, an RTL F1 team is again presenting a Grand Prix from the track together.

The “Tifosi” are currently experiencing a small renaissance in Italy. After two years of the pandemic, the fans are back in the grandstands in Imola just in time for the Ferrari home game, and they promptly sell out. The euphoria surrounding the resurgent Scuderia with world championship leader Charles Leclerc makes it possible.

The last home podium for a Ferrari driver in Imola was in 2006, back then in the cockpit: Michael Schumacher.
