RTL is the party that stole the real-life soap about André Hazes Jr. from SBS. His series will be shown in the autumn on RTL 5, so not just like Gerard Joling’s on flagship RTL 4.
TV soaps about famous Dutch people are suddenly all the rage again and the enormous success of the Gerard Joling soap has apparently prompted RTL to also purchase the series about the life of André Hazes Jr. It was expected that it would be broadcast on SBS, because it also broadcast his previous soaps, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Next chapter
RTL thinks it is a good time to follow André. “After the very last concert of his successful theater tour – in a swirling AFAS Live – André Hazes closes the door of his dressing room behind him. Alone for a while. And now? Now the next chapter in his always special life begins,” the channel said.
“The reality series ‘André Hazes: And Now…’ shows how André approaches this new phase with his characteristic positive energy and humor. And quite a lot happens: André’s great love Noa (gradually) moves in with him, which is a big change for both him and his son Dré.”
Cheerful real life
What can we expect? “Every week he has performances or recordings of the successful podcast with sister Roxeanne. The relationship is so good that they go on holiday together with both families,” according to RTL.
“Add to this the fact that André is still working towards his big AFAS Live show in November, learning to cook, coaching his son’s football team and doing fun things with his group of friends full of striking figures. A crowded, cheerful real life is a fact.”
Chaotic
André himself is enthusiastic. “There is always something going on in my life. That sometimes makes it chaotic, but above all very fun. I have had an eventful time, but I am now at a point where I am mainly looking forward. In this series I show who I am now: as a father, as a partner, as a brother and as a friend. A new phase is starting and it feels good.”
“With lovely people around me, lots of plans and, above all, a lot of excitement for what is to come. I leave nothing behind closed doors: you see me at home, with my son, with Noa, with my family and friends. Really as it is. I am really looking forward to sharing all that with the viewer.”
André’s series can be seen this fall on Videoland and RTL 5.
