RTL Boulevard thinks that Johnny de Mol would do well to stop his talk show HLF8 for the time being. They thus join the men of Today Inside.

More and more people are noticing that Johnny de Mol is the only celebrity who is allowed to continue with all his activities despite a very serious allegation to his pants. Just like the men of Today Inside, RTL Boulevard also thinks that the presenter should stop his daily talk show HLF8 after the leaked declaration of Shima Kaes.

Quit HLF8

Vivienne van den Assem opened RTL Boulevard yesterday with the key question. “After developments in his assault case, the big question is: can Johnny de Mol continue with the talk show HLF8?”

She finds it ‘remarkable’ that Johnny continues to be seen on the eve of SBS 6. “Since in similar cases a celebrity immediately disappears from the tube. (…) That is of course the question that now arises. Should he actually be there or should he take a step back?”

step back

TV expert Rob Goossens advises Johnny to disappear from the picture for a while. “I do think that Johnny would do well to take a step back, even if you are one hundred percent convinced that you have done nothing wrong, because of course your viewers will only be in the back of their minds for the next few weeks with that Johnny de Mol may have beaten up his fiancée three times.”

Colleague Luuk Ikink: “We mainly watch this program when there is another statement and then it is there again, but full of stress and such. This also seems real to me… It is almost impossible to present such a program full of tension and stress.”

Damn tricky

Rob agrees. “I think so and he then closes it off by saying, ‘Now on to more important matters’, and then he goes on to interview a writer about her turning out to be a witch. Then I think: to call that important…”

He continues: “It makes it all damn difficult and of course that will remain for a while. It’s not like the viewer is now like, he’s responded and we’ll see if there’s ever a lawsuit.”

Happy Johnny

Luuk: “And what now… There is of course also a chance that a case will come and he will actually be convicted. What then?”

Rob: “If he is convicted for these things… The accusations are much more serious than the accusations as we have seen in the Voice scandal, so I would find it very strange if we just continue with cheerful Johnny de Mol- television programs.”
