Roy Oude Rikerink and his wife Anouk fervently hoped for positive news after the six-monthly MRI scan. However, the doctor had black news for the couple on Friday, as they indicated by placing a black area on their Instagram page. Now it appears what the results showed.

Oude Rikerink was told in 2018 that he had a diffuse brain tumor, a type of cancer that cannot be completely removed. The doctors could not cure him, but he underwent two brain operations and various chemotherapy and radiation therapies to reduce the tumor as much as possible. This will follow since 2022 Over my dead body Roy and his young family: wife Annick and son Scott (3).

Roy in Over my dead body

Roy undergoes a check-up scan in the hospital every six months. Last May there was reason for optimism when the tumor mass appeared to have shrunk. Now the opposite is true, Annick writes in a message: “Growth has once again been observed in Roy’s head. But somewhere there is not enough clarity for us yet, but that will come.”

She continues: “I could write so much more about it, but we are still under adrenaline, so I notice that I cannot find the right words yet and feel little, or perhaps feel too much.” Despite the bad news, Roy and Annick remain in good spirits.

With the message she shares a video of their three-year-old son Scott: “We are strong, we talk, we are among people, I am at work, Roy is happy with the people where he wants to be. Then we hug, we talk again and we are angry, sad, and then life goes on as normal.”
