“It was my father’s last vacation. We were in Las Vegas, I was in a hot tub and at one point a group of men came and joined me in that bubble,” says Roxeanne, who was learning the English language at the time. “So I thought: you know what, I’m going to ask these people, very coolly, how they are.”
According to Roxeanne, the men apparently thought that was cute and decided to have a chat with the young Dutchman. In poor English she then asked what kind of work the gentlemen did. “They had to laugh very hard, because of course they thought: that girl has absolutely no idea who we are. So at one point one of them says: I’m the lead singer of Metallica, do you know Metallica?”, to which the young Roxeanne has to answer in the negative, but does say that her father is also a well-known singer.
