Rowers have to cancel starts in Munich

Due to several corona cases, the German rowers have to cancel the start of two boats at the European Championships in Munich (August 11th to 21st). This was announced by the German Rowing Association (DRV). The men’s double scull and the light men’s double scull are affected.

“It’s really a shame and annoying. So far we’ve been spared when it comes to corona diseases in major regattas. The fact that it’s now affecting the home European Championships in Munich is all the more bitter. I hope that the sick athletes will get fit again quickly and Corona doesn’t make even bigger waves in our team,” said sports director Mario Woldt.

Oliver Zeidler is not affected. The 2019 world champion can start because he prepared for the regatta individually in Munich and was not in contact with the infected.
