When and where does the 2025 biathlon World Cup take place?
The 55th World Biathlon Championships will take place in the Swiss community of Lenzerheide from 12 to February 23. The home of the competitions is the Roland Arena, which has had the A license of the IBU Biathlon Association since 2017 and offers space for up to 15,000 fans.
The shooting range of the Roland Arena is considered easy to control among the athletes. In good conditions, a quick and clean shooting is usually the basic requirement for a successful competition. The route, on the other hand, is considered demanding – and not only because of its location at around 1500 meters.

Who are the favorites on the medals?
For the men, there is no way in the medal race past the two Norwegians Johannes Thingnes Bø and Sturla Holm Laegreid. But the French also have some hot iron like Emilia Jacquelin in the fire. You always have to have Sebastian Samuelsson on the bill. For the German biathletes, on the other hand, it has to go exceptionally a lot so that they make it onto the podium.
It looks very different for women. After her phenomenal season so far, Franziska Preuss is considered a podium candidate in every race. Selina Grotian and Vanessa Preuss is also a lot to do on a good day. And also in the season, the DSV team will normally have a say in the medal allocation.
The biggest competitors come from France and Sweden. While the Swedes put their hopes, especially in Elvira Öberg, who had to cancel the World Cup in Antholz due to illness, the French team starts at least five runners, each of whom is able to run on the podium at all times.
