Washington (dpa-Afx)-the US billionaire Elon Musk has emphasized the importance of its SATELLITENSYST STARLINK for the Ukrainian troops in the defense against Russia. “If I turned it off, her entire front breaks down,” wrote Musk, a close advisor to US President Donald Trump, on his platform X. Starlink is the backbone of the Ukrainian armed forces.
Then he sent a clarification after: “To be very clear, no matter how much I reject the Ukrainian politics, Starlink will never switch off his terminals.”
With a view of the war, Musk wrote that he was fed up with the “battles” for years, and Ukraine will lose anyway. It is therefore necessary to make peace immediately.
Poland hurries to help – and is taken into account for it
The Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski reacted to X and wrote that his government covered the Starlink costs for Ukraine in the amount of $ 50 million a year. If Musk’s company SpaceX, which operates Starlink, is no longer a reliable provider, you have to look around for alternatives.
Sikorski triggered inherited reactions. Musk replied: “Be quiet, little man.” Poland only pays a fraction of the costs. “And there is no substitute for Starlink.”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also started his counterpart and criticized X, Sikorski thinks things. “Nobody threatened to cut off the Ukraine of Starlink,” wrote Rubio. “And say thank you, because without Starlink the Ukraine would have lost this war long ago and the Russians are now on the border with Poland.”
Trump’s U -turn and the new sound
