Tel Aviv/Gaza (dpa -AfX) – According to Israeli information, the women’s corpse handed over by the Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip is that of the delayed Geisel Schiri Bibas. This was confirmed by the Kibbutz Nir Oz in the morning. “The Kibbutz announces with deep pain that it was murdered in Gaza in the hostage,” said a spokeswoman. Meanwhile, the terrorist organization now wants to release six other Israeli hostages in exchange with hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. The men should start the men this morning in Rafah in the south of the sealed coastal strip and take place in two steps.

These are the men Omer Schem-Tov, Omer Wenkert, Elija Cohen, Tal Schoham, Hisham al-Sajid and Avera Mengistu. Hamas confirmed the names. In return, Palestinian information is provided that Israel will be released around 600 Palestinian prisoners from prisons, among them 60 criminals with long prison terms. She had previously given the body of Schiri Bibas, which also had German citizenship, to the Red Cross, whereupon it was handed over Israel and was examined in a forensic institute in the coastal metropolis Tel Aviv.

“Schiri was loved by everyone”

“Schiri was loved by everyone they knew, she was a devoted mother,” said the spokeswoman for Kibbutz. The mother’s remains of the mother should have returned to Israel together with those of her two sons in toddler age on Thursday. In the coffin that Hamas had handed over to the Red Cross that day, however, there was the body of another unknown woman. The terrorist organization later admitted a possible error. The exchange – whether knowingly or accidentally – had triggered great outrage in Israel.

Already in the night of Friday the Israeli army had the death of Schiri’s both young children Ariel and Kfir Bibas confirmed. “In contrast to the lies of Hamas, Ariel and Kfir were not killed in an air raid, but murdered in cold blood,” said Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari. “The terrorists did not shot the two boys – they killed them with their bare hands,” said Hagari. At the moment of her kidnapping, Ariel was four years old and Kfir was only ten months old.

Army speaker: Schiri’s children were brutally murdered

Afterwards, the terrorists had committed “cruel deeds” to cover up their atrocities, Hagari said. The army speaker did not give details. This assessment is based on the forensic results of the identification of the corpses and on unadorned intelligence findings, it said. Hamas, on the other hand, accused Israel of negotiating the death of the toddlers and her mother Schiri, who were deported from Israel on October 7, 2023 in the Gaza stripes that were dragged onto the sealed Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

The woman’s body is said to have been buried together with other victims under rubble. Therefore, on Thursday, the mother, together with the remains of the boys and another Israeli hostage, may not have been mistaken, but the terrorist organization said. Israel had rated this as a break in the agreements to the current ceasefire and freedom of hostage. The information on both sides could initially not be checked independently.

Netanyahu speaks of “Hamas-Monstern”

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had described Hamas as “cruel and malignant” because of the false deaths handed over on Thursday and spoke of “Hamas Monsters”. These would pay for this, he warned in a video message. At the same time, he assured that he is committed to returning all hostages that remained in the Gaza Strip.

It was initially unclear how the implementation of the deal between Israel and Hamas will continue. According to Hamas, four other bodies are to be handed over next week. Among the six kidnapped people are released today are two men who have been captured by Hamas for around ten years. They had crossed the border to the Gaza Strip on their own. According to Israeli information, both have to deal with psychological problems.

The other four men were delayed on October 7, 2023 by Hamas and other extremist groups at their unprecedented massacre in southern Israel with 1,200 deaths into the Gaza strip.

Israel closes border crossing

Meanwhile, Israel has closed the most important transition for aid deliveries in the Gaza Strip without giving any reasons. “The Kerem Shalom border crossing is closed today, and no equipment has been to Gaza since yesterday,” Netanyahus spokesman Omer Dostri wrote on X.

According to the Hamas, around ten container houses were transported to the sealed off coastal area shortly before the closure. The delivery of these make-up houses for the many million Gaza residents living in tents and ruins is one of the most important demands of Hamas for the continuation of the ceasefire and the agreed exchange of hostages for imprisoned Palestinians./LN/LE/EDR/GM/DP /e.g.
