MUNICH/DÜSSELDORF (dpa-AFX) – After the US attack on Venezuela, there were protests against the US attack in several cities in Germany.
An estimated 400 people gathered in Munich, a police spokeswoman said. The demonstrators marched through the streets and, according to statements, things remained peaceful. According to an initial estimate, around 120 participants gathered for a rally in Nuremberg, and around 240 people protested against the US attack on Venezuela in Düsseldorf. The participants marched through the city center before holding the final rally in front of the US Consulate General near the main train station.
According to the police, around 500 people demonstrated in Hamburg that evening against the US attack on Venezuela and the capture of head of state Nicolás Maduro. The demonstrators held up placards with slogans such as “Hands off Venezuela” and “Take sides for peace and against rearmament”. They walked from Heiligengeistfeld to the US Consulate in HafenCity in the cold and snow. Around 300 people took to the streets in the Hanseatic city on Saturday evening.
