A fire has started in an apartment complex on Leonard Springerlaan in Meppel. The cause: a roast in the microwave. This was reported by a spokesperson for the Drenthe Safety Region.
The residents of the apartment themselves were not at home at the time of the fire, but observant neighbors noticed the smoke and alerted the emergency services. The fire was extinguished after the front door of the house was forced open by the emergency services.
