Rostov authorities told how refugees from Donbass are transported

Buses are on duty at the checkpoints on the border around the clock, which transport arrivals to temporary accommodation points or to trains on which they follow to other regions. In total, 200 buses and 400 drivers are involved

The Rostov region used about 200 buses to transport refugees from the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR, Magomed Darsigov, the coordinator for transport at the headquarters of the Rostov region, chairman of the commission for transport services to the population and road activities of the City Duma of Rostov-on-Don, told RBC. He is one of the coordinators for the transportation of refugees in the region.

Buses are waiting for refugees at border crossing points, as well as at the Uspenskaya railway station, where trains from the DPR arrive. After that, they transport people either to temporary accommodation points, or deliver them to trains on which they go to other Russian regions.

“About 200 buses have been mobilized to complete the task, 150 of them are working stably. About 400 drivers are involved. As of morning [20 февраля] we transported about 50 thousand people. This figure is increasing, a lot of people are leaving the LPR and DPR,” Darsigov said. On the morning of February 20, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reportedthat since February 18, more than 40 thousand refugees from Donbass have arrived in the Rostov region. A total of 92 temporary accommodation centers have been deployed in the region.
