Rospotrebnadzor softened coronavirus rules

In Moscow, the period of treatment of patients with coronavirus was reduced. Since February 6, the self-isolation regime can be ended after seven days from the date of confirmation of the diagnosis of COVID-19. This was announced at the headquarters. Also in Moscow canceled quarantine in school classes and groups of kindergartens. In-person classes will resume next week. They will go into quarantine only if more than 20% of students are absent from the class due to illness. And yet, the sanitary and epidemiological rules have been updated by Rospotrebnadzor. Quarantine is canceled for those who have been in contact with covid patients, and those who have been treated for more than seven days will be discharged without a control PCR test.

Doctors and virologists are carefully studying “omicron”. As observations show, the incubation period of this variant of the coronavirus is a maximum of three days. The disease develops very quickly and disappears just as quickly. For this reason Rospotrebnadzor allowed to discharge patients with COVID-19 without a negative test for the coronavirus, if treatment patient lasted a week or longer.

“The isolation of the virus has also been significantly reduced. And literally on the first day it can begin, and within a few days it can already be completed. And therefore, such patients quickly become harmless to others, in fact, even faster than the test results are received,” explained the deputy director of the FBUN MNIIEM named after Gabrichevsky Rospotrebnadzor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Tatyana Ruzhentsova.

Not only Russian, but also international experience was studied. Similar rules are being introduced in many countries. First of all, this helps to reduce the burden on primary health care and avoid unnecessary, unnecessary tests.

“Studies by Russian and foreign scientists show that people who have been vaccinated, and especially a second or booster vaccination, are protected from the severe course of COVID-19. Therefore, we recommend that everyone be vaccinated and revaccinated after six months to protect themselves from the adverse course of COVID-19 “, – said the chief freelance specialist in therapy and general medical practice of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Oksana Drapkina.

By the same decree, the head of Rospotrebnadzor canceled the mandatory quarantine for those who had contact with the sick. They no longer need to be isolated.

It happens that patients recover much faster. And such cases are also described in the resolution. Then you will need to take a second test and wait for a negative test to be taken at least three days after a positive one. Then it is already possible to return to the work team, even if less than a week has passed.

At the same time, experts note that a significant part of the population in Russia is either vaccinated or has been ill with coronavirus earlier, because Omicron is easier to carry.

“In general, the period of observation of patients has been reduced. And the patient’s well-being is currently put at the forefront. And now, in fact, Rospotrebnadzor regulates the following position: for people who have been in contact, at the moment there is no need to be in isolation for 7, and earlier 14 days. And the key moment for an individual to start working, to study, is well-being,” said Alexander Gorelov, Deputy Director for Research at the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Chairman of the National Scientific Society of Infectious Diseases, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The new rules go into effect this Sunday. Both sick leave and discharge of patients will be based on the new requirements.

“Doctors will be able to provide assistance to those patients who really need help faster. The new procedure for issuing sick leave, adopted to take care of people, will be valid until March 15,” warned the chief freelance specialist in infectious diseases of the Russian Ministry of Health, Professor Vladimir Chulanov.

However, it is important not to confuse: if there are pronounced symptoms of the disease, no one will reduce the quarantine for the patient.
