Izvestia: RKN is exploring the possibility of economic measures against YouTube due to the blocking of RT
Roskomnadzor is considering economic measures against YouTube video hosting due to the systematic blocking of Russian media channels, including for blocking the RT auf Sendung channel on the day of its launch. About it reported “Izvestia” with reference to the message of the regulator.
According to the publication, as restrictive measures, the department considers economic restrictions, which are provided for by the Federal Law “On the activities of foreign persons in the information and telecommunication network “Internet” on the territory of the Russian Federation” No. 236 of 07/01/2021.
It is noted that this law, among other things, provides for the possibility of a ban on advertising, search results, restriction of payments, as well as money transfers.
