Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy claimed victory at the Canadian Opentournament of the PGA Tours which began on Thursday at St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Toronto, when he beat American Tony Finau on the last day.

It is McIlroy’s second consecutive win at the Canadian Open. The British player already won the previous edition, played in 2019 at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club. The tournament was suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to covid.

McIlroy finished all four rounds with 261 shots. (-19), two less than Finay, the second classified, and four less than the third, Justin Thomas. The last round was played in trios.

In the last round, McIlroy turned in a card with 62 strokes, eight under par. The Brit completed the day with 10 “birdies”including one on the last hole, and two bogeys.
