It is a party with the Assen blues, bluegrass and roots ‘n’ shovel. This year the five -member formation has been around for ten years, so that is celebrated. And the band does that in two ways.
Firstly, by giving an anniversary concert on 18 May in Podium Zuidhage in Assen. Second, perhaps even more important, with the brand new album Ride Tonight what has just appeared.
“It has become a beautiful picture,” says singer, guitarist and harmonica player Tjitte Knol. “With largely own work and with one cover on it.” The album is included at in Natural Records in Sibculo, where also Drenthe country musicians such as Hilde Vos and Edwin Jongedijk were.
“I think we have surpassed ourselves,” replies singer and guitarist Harold Schenk to the question how Ride Tonight relates to the previous album Train Back Home. “We are very proud of it.”
May 18 will be Ride Tonight Officially released during the Jubilee Concert. In addition to the plate presentation, the ten -year existence of the band is also considered. “We are going to play beautiful songs from our entire repertoire,” says Schenk. “There are old band members who play a role; it will just be a party.”
He emphasizes that the concert in Podium Zuidhage is free, but that it is wise to register by sending an email. “Everyone who has a warm heart for our music is very welcome.”
