From England: Rooney is thinking of taking up boxing
Wayne Rooney, as reported by the Daily Star today, he is thinking of taking up boxing. The 38-year-old former Everton and Manchester United (among others) striker is currently unemployed after being sacked by Birmingham City on January 2nd. The club’s decision after a series of negative results. At the helm of the former United, Birmingham has only collected two wins, four draws and nine defeats which have yielded 10 points in 15 games.
Rooney recently admitted that he was hurt by the sacking and that he would like to take some time to decide what to do next. In the meantime, as several English newspapers report, the idea of changing sport has arisen. Rooney is a big boxing fan and is said to be in contact with the organizers of the Misfits show, which features well-known influencers and YouTube stars such as KSI and Logan Paul in the ring.
But Rooney’s record in the sport is not at all positive. In 2015, the then captain of Manchester United under management Luois Van Gaal was the protagonist of a video shot after a knockout against Swansea.
In the video you can see Rooney fighting with gloves with his friend Bardsley, a former Stoke City footballer. Not in a ring obviously, but in your own kitchen. And the ending was not unforgettable at all: Rooney knocked out!
