Rooijakkers narrowly outside top ten in Liège-Bastogne-Liège | 1Limburg

The sixth edition of the cycling classic Liège-Bastogne-Liège for women was won by Annemiek van Vleuten.

After an impressive solo of about fifteen kilometers, the Dutchman was the first to cross the line.

Three quarters of a minute
It’s the second time she LBL wins, because in 2019 she also triumphed in Liège. Three quarters of a minute behind Van Vleuten, Grace Brown came in second, ahead of Demi Vollering and Ashleigh Moolman, who both play for the originally Limburg team SD Worx.

Pauliena Rooijakkers (Canyon//SRAM Racing) also rode a creditable course. De Venrayse crossed the finish line in the third group and finished eleventh. Earlier this week, Rooijakkers also finished eleventh in the Walloon arrow.

The Steinse Quinty Schoens (Parkhotel Valkenburg) rode in the course of more than 142 kilometers to 46th place. Lotto Soudal rider Kylie Waterreus from Ulestraten did not reach the finish line.
