Before the important home game against Preußen Münster, Eintracht Braunschweig is worried about Ron-Thorben Hoffmann. The goalkeeper was injured in training.
Eintracht Braunschweig worries about goalkeeper Thorben Hoffmann. As the second division team announced on Instagram on Thursday, the 25-year-old “injured his hip in yesterday’s training.”
After an initial medical examination on Wednesday, “further detailed checks” are currently being carried out, the club said. We want to provide information about the diagnosis, possible downtime and how to proceed “as soon as it becomes clear.”
Regular goalkeeper Hoffmann is threatened with at least a loss in the important basement duel against Preußen Münster on Sunday. Kick-off is at 1.30 p.m., Sky will broadcast live.
At the Eintracht Stadium on Hamburger Straße, both teams are looking for urgently needed points in the relegation battle: Eintracht Braunschweig is in 13th place in the table with 25 points after 23 games, Münster is 15th in the table with 23 points.
For BTSV it is important to make up for the 1:3 defeat from the first leg on September 28th. Supporters of both teams who had gained access to the interior caused a scandal at the time. The game was stopped for several minutes.
However, Eintracht’s most recent home record is encouraging: Heiner Backhaus’ team scored a total of eleven points from the last six games at the Eintracht Stadium. Only the game against 1. FC Magdeburg on January 16th was lost 3-0.
Substitute keeper Elhan Kastrati will probably be in goal on Sunday. For the 29-year-old, it would be his debut in the blue and yellow jersey. Ron-Thorben Hoffmann has played in each of the 24 competitive games in the league and the DFB Cup so far.
