Tappara suffered a loss to Rögle in the 1st leg of the CHL quarterfinals, where the last season’s finalists met. The battle played in Sweden ended with a 3–2 victory for the home team.

The match took its turn already in the third minute of the game, when Oskar Pettersson spooned in front of the goal to give Rögle the lead. After five minutes, Tappara’s superiority lost the puck in the central area To Linus Sandiniwhich passed Christian Heljangon at the end of a clever paint job.

Rögle’s 3–0 goal was created again in a straightforward style, when Oskar Stål-Tyrenäs received a pass after the break, ran through and surprised Heljango with a rather central shot.
