Men’s fashion week has just come to an end. Ahead of next week’s haute couture week and one later in Berlin, FashionUnited took a look at the streetwear looks in Milan and Paris, which as always also ensure a decent show off the catwalk. This season is characterized by skaters, cowboys and girls and robots. But see for yourself.

skate style

The streetwear looks get rolling with the right accessory and some visitors to the fashion weeks take that literally. In addition to bicycles, on which people pose, the skateboard is also a cool accessory that is also practical for getting quickly from one show to the next. There is no such thing as a ‘skater:inside look’. From a loose T-shirt or shirt with baggy pants to a tight, short crop top, the boundaries are wide open. What is important is the certain nonchalance with which the board is presented, mixed with a punk attitude.

XXL polo shirts

The skate style also goes hand in hand with the XXL polo shirt, which, in contrast to its original use in sports, should not be practical but should be as casual as possible. Here, too, wide jeans are suitable for the urban look. It can also be styled with loose shorts or a skirt and high heels.

Ragged pants

The fact that the pants themselves can be the focus of the outfit is proven by the wearers of unusual jeans models, which are provided with fringes or a patch pattern, for example. Cargo pants, which are decorated with wild patterns instead of plain beige or olive, also attract attention. To put the full focus on the trousers, a simple top such as a shirt, turtleneck sweater or t-shirt is suitable. Dark sunglasses complete the look.

Robo fashion

The fact that sunglasses – like in the early 00s – are becoming more futuristic again is nothing new anymore. Now the rest of the look follows this trend. It can be individual pieces, such as a metallic bra – somewhere between robo girl and knight, but also an entire look reminiscent of C3PO from the science fiction series Star Wars. Similar to robots in films, the statics of the materials are played with here, which can also be contrasted with wide, loose pieces.

Blockcore with a twist

Football jerseys have also played a role in the fashionable wardrobe for some time now. In combination with a simple pair of jeans and a mostly narrow sneaker like the Adidas model ‘Samba’, people who are not even particularly interested in football follow the so-called blokecore trend. But if you don’t want to appear in a partner look with your own father, you can give the whole thing a fashionable twist. At the Fashion Weeks in Milan and Paris, the soccer jersey could be seen in combination with different skirts, among other things. Depending on the style, the look can be created in different directions – with chunky boots and dark skirt as a raver:in or with tartan skirt and classic shoes for the double twist to British (soccer) tradition.

tie art

The classic tie is also being reinterpreted this season. Instead of the classic tie knot, the tie can also be wrapped around the neck like a silk scarf. But also special ties like those with a rose knot, as a shabby version with a hole or in a large format are real statement pieces. Wearers like to play with classic pieces such as waistcoats and shirts and combine them casually with jeans or more chic, depending on their taste.

Cowboys and girls

The absolute trend this season is shaped by the cowboy culture. The matching boots and cowboy boots were already popular accessories at the Pitti Uomo men’s fashion fair in Florence. Now the cowboys and girls seem to have ridden on to Milan and Paris, because there too the street style photographers with their cameras could not avoid a duel with them.

In addition to the classic looks known from Wild West films or Texas, there were also some modern interpretations. Hats sporting team logos like baseball peaked caps and horseshoe handbags were seen.
